Infrared Sauna

Primal Moves has recently installed an Infrared Sauna and are offering each of our Foundation and Regular members a complimentary trial.

So what exactly is an infrared sauna and why should you give it a go?

Like a traditional sauna, you can expect to increase your body temperature and have a good detoxifying sweat. Infrared saunas however work a little differently - they warm you up from the inside by using infrared light (invisible to the human eye) which penetrates the skin to raise your internal body temperature (like the sun but without the harmful UV rays) and the room stays a comfortable/dry environment. Whereas traditional steam saunas heat you from the outside via the hot steamy air.

There are many, many infrared saunas on the market, we have done our research and forked out for what we believe to be the very best. The sauna we have chosen - the 'Sunlighten M-Pulse Conquer' uses all three infrared wavelengths - near (NIR), mid (MIR) and far (FIR) waves to deliver maximum health benefits. It is the only sauna currently on the market to deliver all three waves with its unique, patented technology. Infrared saunas are far from new with the first FIR sauna invented in Japan in 1965! They have continued to improve and evolve since.

Benefits to infrared sauna use include:

Detoxification

Heart Health

Muscle Recovery

Relaxation

Immune Boosting

Improved Sleep Quality

Weight Loss

Anti Ageing

Making the most of my sauna session:

- Hydrate! be sure to drink plenty of water before, during and after your infrared sauna session.

- Relax...you'll be in the sauna for around 45mins so bring a book or have some music or a pod-cast in mind to listen to - we can bluetooth your phone to the speaker in the sauna  or alternatively you can watch/listen to YouTube on the sauna tablet, or meditate.

- Use the chromotherapy coloured lights for added benefits and nood lighting (chromotherapy is another feature additional to the infrared) we'll have an info sheet on the different colours in the sauna room to help you choose, or just select 'fade' to fade in and out of all the colours.

Practical Info:

- We provide: towel to sit on, sweat towel, magazines, filtered water (glasses to be used outside sauna only, however you may take a bottle of water in with a lid on), bathrobe if you wish/need to have a shower after your sauna, however sunlighten do not recommend having a shower straight after as you may continue to have the further benefits of sweating out toxins for a little while after your session which a shower straight after would prevent.

- What to wear? Most people choose to have a nude sauna session, you are required to sit on the clean towel provided and the room is private, some people choose to wear bathers or underwear which is fine but bring spares to go home in as they will most likely get wet with perspiration.

- The sauna takes about an hour to preheat so be sure to factor that in and give us plenty of time to get it ready if you plan to book a session.

How many can go in the sauna at once?

Our sauna is a three person sauna, however I'd say it would comfortably fit two. Most choose to have a solo sauna but the option is there to go in with a friend (two people will be an additional fee)

What is the cost if I choose to do sauna sessions after my complimentary trial?

Foundation and Regular Members will have discounted saunas at $40 per session as opposed to $50 for non-members.

We also have a Members 10 Pack price of $375, and non-members $440.

How Do I Book my Comp Session?

The complimentary sessions will be booked by contacting Lizzy directly 0421074271, and are available in Primal's usual opening hours.

Please click on the links below to find out some further info including who should't use infrared saunas (if you are on certain medications, have heart conditions or other medical conditions/situations that may require the go ahead by your doctor).  We will also have a standard waiver form specific to infrared sauna use for you to sign before your first session.
